News from International Truck and Engine Corporation

Last week, John Horne, chairman and CEO of Navistar International Corporation, spoke to the Economic Club of Detroit about the opportunities for diesel power in the American automotive market. As you know, Navistars the holding company for International Truck and Engine Corporation, designer and manufacturer of the Power Stroke Diesel engine for Ford Motor Company's F-Series pickup trucks, Econoline vans and the Excursion SUV.

For your knowledge, I'm attaching a transcript of the speech for you to read over. I also encourage you to use this as an opportunity to present the topic to your readers, by posting the full script or quotes on your Web site, such as:

"If light-duty diesel engines achieved a 30 percent penetration of their potential markets by 2020, our net crude oil imports, as a nation, would be reduced by 700,000 barrels a day. That represents half of the daily energy use of the entire state of California." - John Horne

If you have any questions or would like more information about diesel power for light trucks and SUVs, please call me at 312-664-2055 ext. 4227.

Sincerely,

Jessica Pitrone
